Dawson Ellis snapped a 1-1 tie at 12:33 of the third period to give the Wellington Dukes a 2-1 win over the Cougars in Cobourg last night.
It was the 4th goal of the year for Ellis. Former Cougar Jacob Breckles also scored while Matthew Dunsmoor stopped 31 shots.
Wellington improves to 9-2 and moves one point ahead of second place Trenton in the OJHL East Division.
The Dukes are home to the Collingwood Colts Friday night.
