World Elite Training- Major Atom
The World Elite Training Major Atoms traveled to Barrie to face off against their rivals, the Barrie Jr. Colts.
Barrie got the first goal, but it didn’t take long for Ryan Foley to steal the puck and fire it in the net. It was a competitive game, and no one was willing to budge. The final score was 1-1, with Lilyana Reid in net.
On Sunday, the team played the North Central Predators. Foley got things started at the end of the first period, followed by another goal at the start of the second. Quinte was up 2-0. Wyatt Whalen popped in a rebound and Maclean Chisholm put one past the goalie to end the second period 4-1. Quinte wasn’t finished yet. Nate Rashotte scored in the third period and Foley sunk another one for a hat trick! Keegan Goulah’s one timer finished off the game. Assists went to: Camden Sloan (x2), Black Munnings, Gabriel Davis, Rashotte, Chisholm, and Jake Gawley. Quinte wins 7-3, with Charlie Vos in net.
Up next, the World Elite Training squad vs. the Whitby Wildcats on Saturday in Whitby and then the Central Ontario Wolves on Sunday in Madoc.
McInroy Maines Construction- Major Midget
The Quinte McInroy-Maines Construction Midget Red Devils picked up a win and a loss this weekend in ETA league play.
On Saturday, the Devils defeated the Central Ontario Wolves 5-1. Alex Lucas picked up the win in goal and was named Devil of the Day. Michael Patrick, Lucas Culhane, Nate Burelle, Beckett Palmer-Stephen and Gavin Camp scored in the win while assists were picked up by Trot Davis, Aiden Treverton, Lucas Culhane, Cayde Culhane, Burelle, Patrick and Kyle McMechan.
On Sunday, the Devils dropped a 5-2 decision to the Richmond Hill Coyotes. Zack Brooks and Lucas Culhane scored for the Devils while Burelle (2), Cayde Culhane and Brooks picked up assists. Devil of the Day was Michael Patrick.
Foley Bus Lines- Minor Midget
In a newly aligned single ETA division for the 2019-20 season, points will be at a premium when it comes to year end standings and the QRD minor midgets were able to snag another four this past weekend in ETA action. This past Thursday, the QRD’s took on the newly branded Greater Kingston Jr. Gaels in a home contest at the Mackay Insurance Pad.
The locals were able to draw first blood in the early frame by taking a 1-0 lead. In the second the Devils padded their lead by tacking on three more before adding two more in the third to cruise to a 6-1 victory. After a Saturday practice day, the home town boys looked to take on the ever stingy Whitby Wildcats in another home event at the CAA on Sunday afternoon. Both teams seemed to feel each other out in the first and ended in a 0-0 draw. The Devils got their mojo going in the second to the tune of six unanswered goals before adding another two in the third to close out the Wildcats 8-1 in a the lopsided finish.

Bonn Law- Major Bantam
The Bonn Law Bantams secured 4 points on the road this past weekend, positioning them in first place in the Bantam division with a record of 5-0-1.
Saturday, the boys faced North Central Predators and came away with a 6-2 win. Ethan Beattie was strong in net recording his second win as a Red Devil. Scoring opened in the first period by Jack Dever with assists to Ethan Miedema and Tyson Carr. The team was able to gain momentum in the second period with goals by Miedema, Carr and AP Jack Lowry. Helpers credited to Cal Uens, Ethan Quick (2), Carter McKee, Miedema and Trent Williams. Miedema scored two additional goals in the third with assists to Liam Rampersad, Uens & McKee.
Sunday evening, the boys battled hard to beat Barrie Colts 2-0. Aidan Crowley boasted the shut out win in net in the action packed, physical contest. Scoring for the Bonn Law Bantams came from two powerplay goals from McKee (assisted by Justin Murdoch & Carr) and Christopher Brydges (assisted by Dever & Miedema).
The Bonn Law Bantams will travel for two more road games this coming weekend against the Whitby Wildcats and the Markham Waxers.
Free Flow Petroleum- Minor Peewee
It was another busy weekend for the Minor Peewee’s, beginning with a game down highway, versus the Greater Kingston Junior Gaels. Off to a quiet start, Kingston took a 1-0 lead in the first period, putting the Minor Peewee’s on edge. Not long into the second, Quinte responded by a goal from Ryland Cunningham, set up by Jack Foley and Kaden Koutroulides. With the pressure on, Kingston responded quickly regaining their lead. After an encouraging second intermission team meeting, the Minor Peewee’s came on strong, making the game even, at 2-2, scoring for Quinte was Foley (from Koutroulides). Taking advantage of their momentum, Quinte kept the pressure going; earning their lead in the final five minutes. The game winner fired by Jacob Moore, assist to Noah Lesser, followed quickly by a goal from Blake Brown (assists to, Moore and Cooper Kelly). Katste Brant earned the win for the Minor Peewee’s.
The first home game of the season, took place on Saturday, when the Minor Peewee’s hosted Central Ontario Wolves (COW), in Belleville. Starting in net for the 2008 Minor Peewee’s was goalie Cohen Bedore. Based on outcomes from seasons past, the Quinte-COW match-up did not disappoint; both teams coming into the game strong. The Red Devils got an early lead in the first period, when Matthew Airhart fired one past the goalie, assisted by Cooper Kelly. A few short minutes later, COW met the Devils on the scoreboard, tying the game, at 1-1. Showing their determination, the Minor Peewee’s regrouped and responded within the minute, battling incessantly in tight. Jack Foley (Ryland Cunningham) made the game 2-1, for Quinte. The back and forth play continued, as COW tied it up, less than a minute left in the first period. The coaches and fans were kept on edge until the final buzzer, with no further goals being scored. The game, ending in a 2-2 draw.
Sunday morning, Minor Peewee’s were hosted by Oshawa. Katste Brant started his second game of the weekend, in net for the Minor Peewee’s. A quiet first half of the game on the scoreboard, the Devils put up the first goal of the game, by Riley Reid, with set up efforts going to Blake Brown. At the dismay of our Minor Peewee’s, the hosts were not settling for a loss at home; responded with 3 unanswered goals, lending them a 3-1 win over the Devils.
