A group of local paramedics is being honoured with exemplary service awards tonight.
The Governer General’s Emergency Medical Services Exemplary Service Medals will be handed out at the Ontario Association of Paramedic Chiefs annual general meeting in Toronto, recognizing paramedics with at least 20 years of service, including 10 years on the front lines, in potentially risky or dangerous situations.
Hastings-Quinte Paramedics David Bulkiewicz and Kenneth Martindale are being honoured tonight, along with Lennox and Addington Paramedic Robbie Burns.
Since the medal was created in 1994 it has been awarded to close to 2,100 paramedics across Ontario.
