Adam Kim scored twice in the third period as the Trenton Golden Hawks clipped the Pickering Panthers 4-1 at the OJHL Showcase tournament in Buffalo.
The G-Hawks trailed 1-0 after the first but took the lead on second period goals by Stephen Whittle and Tyler Ignazzitto. Trenton outshot Pickering 31-17.
The Golden Hawks won both games at the Showcase to improve their record to 7-2. They host the Aurora Tigers Friday.
The Wellington Dukes beat the Tigers 3-2 in overtime but the score doesn’t tell the story.
The Dukes outshot Aurora 49-22 but needed a goal by Dawson Ellis with 1 second left in regulation to tie it. Ben Addison netted the winner 34 seconds into overtime. Tigers goalie Andrew Barwinski kept his team in the game with 46 saves.
The Dukes are 7-1. They play Burlington tonight in Buffalo.
