There were tears around the Quinte Health Care boardroom this afternoon (Tuesday) along with high praise for a doctor who’s retiring
from Trenton Memorial Hospital after 35 years of service.
Chair of QHC’s Board of Directors Stuart Wright said Dr. Iris Noland represented exactly what the general public would expect from a dedicated physician.
Not only has Dr. Noland practiced medicine, she has served the organization as Chief/Medical Director of Primary Care.
Wright said the doctor was a great help many years ago on what because known as the “Rainbird Commission” which looked at the restructuring of healthcare in the Quinte West and Brighton areas and made recommendations regarding Trenton Memorial Hospital.
QHC’s Chief of Staff Dr. Colin MacPherson said Dr. Noland had been an “inspiration to him”.
While retiring from service with Quinte Health Care, Dr. Noland is continuing practice in the community.
