With the federal election campaign in full swing, Quinte News has begun its extensive coverage in the run up to the October 21 vote, kicking off the Meet The Candidates interviews on the Lorne Brooker Show.
The series began Friday morning with Adam Gray, who is representing the People’s Party of Canada in Hastings Lennox and Addington.
Gray says his party’s main goal is to help Canadians get ahead.
Among the top priorities for the party is making changes to Canada’s immigration policies.
Gray says, if elected, his party would cap immigration at 100,000 to 150,000 people, with 50% of those coming into the country being skilled workers.
He adds that there won’t be an implementation of a “Trump-style ban” on certain countries, but more of a focus on “integrating new Canadians” into the country.
