The Trenton Golden Hawks played their first road game of the OJHL season last night and so far so good.
The G-Hawks scored 4 power play goals to beat the Buffalo Jr. Sabres 5-2. Dylan McMahon scored twice with the man advantage in the third period. Samuel Duchesne added a goal and 3 assists. Dalton Bancroft and Tyler Ignazzitto had 3 assists as well. Anand Oberoi stopped 36 shots.
The win is Trenton’s 4th in a row. They’re home to Cobourg tomorrow(Friday) night.
In Toronto a pair of third period power play goals carried the Patriots over the Wellington Dukes 3-2.
Ben Evans short handed and Frank Vitucci scored for the Dukes who suffer their first loss of the season. Matthew Keeley with 34 saves.
Wellington hosts the Whitby Fury tomorrow night.
In the Provincial Junior “C” League tonight (Thurs) the Picton Pirates host rival Napanee Raiders at 7:30 at the Prince Edward Community Centre. It’s the home opener for the Pirates.
Both teams are 1-0.
