A longtime Northumberland OPP officer has been disciplined after pleading guilty to neglect of duty after not thoroughly investigating a sexual assault
complaint from a woman in 2015.
Constable Adam Quemby was docked 80 hours or 2 weeks pay.
The disciplinary hearing officer said the victim felt “revictimized” by the casual approach Quemby took to her complaints.
It was also found that Quemby did not properly document evidence and had simply come to a conclusion on his own about the complainant’s credibility.
The officer did express remorse and apologized to the victim. Quemby otherwise had a clean record serving with the OPP.
