Late last night Belleville Police responded to the east end of the city after receiving a report of a domestic dispute.
A man called to report that he was being assaulted by his girlfriend. During the conversation the woman took the phone and hung up on the police dispatch.
Officers arrived around 10:40 p.m. and arrested the 33-year-old Belleville woman for assault.
She was released on a promise to appear in court on October 7.
