Quinte West OPP have charged a man with theft today (Friday) in the area of Bain Park in Quinte West.
Around 1:30 p.m., police arrested 32-year-old Irakli Iobashvili of North York with theft under $5,000, failure to comply with a probation order and failure to comply with recognizance.
Iobashvili fled a large retail store on Dundas Street East in Quinte West with stolen merchandise. Store employees followed him out and police arrested him a short time later.
Iobashvili was held for bail and is scheduled to appear in court later today in Belleville.
