There’s a welcome event for military families who are new to the Quinte Area this weekend.
The Trenton Military Family Resource Centre is hosting the event between 11:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. on Sunday featuring more than 45 community information booths, face painting, inflatable activities, outdoor swimming at the RecPlex, a free BBQ lunch and more.
MFRC spokesperson Devon Taylor says the term “military family” doesn’t just refer to military members with kids.
She adds that it’s a chance to welcome military families and members who were just posted to the area this summer.
The Block Party is being hosted mainly at the MFRC office at 50 Rivers Drive East, with that street being blocked off from RCAF Road to one of the side streets.
