We have an update regarding a shooting incident in west end Belleville early Tuesday morning.
Police say the shooting occurred outside of an apartment building at 35 Union Street.
Police say the suspect ran away and is a small man who was wearing dark clothing.
Soon after a resident living on nearby Frank Street was awakened by a knock on his door just before 2 o’clock in the morning.
A man in his 20’s was located on the back deck of the house bleeding from the gunshot wound.
City police say the victim is recovering and is in stable condition at Kingston General Hospital.
Police also say the victim is not cooperating fully with police in the investigation. They also believe the shooting was an isolated incident.
