It appears the City of Quinte West isn’t giving up on the idea of having a wake park in the Robert Patrick Marina in Trenton’s Centennial Park.
The city’s Corporate Finance Committee has recommended council approve not renewing the StraightTurn Wake Park’s lease when it expires this spring.
The wake park did not operate at all this season and the company’s directors have been nowhere to be found.
However, others are very interested in operating a wake park and many on council believe that if run properly it could become a popular attraction for tourists and locals alike.
A staff report on options for the area will come back to council.
When the StraightTurns Wake Park was operating, people on wakeboards were pulled around the marina basin by a motorized cable system. Ramps were placed in the water to make the ride more exciting.
