August building was steady in Quinte West compared to last year, but construction values were down about $10 million.
There were 106 permits issued by the city last month, the same as August 2018, but their construction value was only about $17.5 million, compared to $27 million last year.
Forty-two of the permits issued were for new single family homes.
To date, the city has issued more permits than last year, at 678 and construction value is significantly higher at more than $124.7 million, compared to only $85.5 million, through the first eight months of 2018.
