There was excitement at the Trent Valley Lodge seniors’ residence in Trenton early this (Sunday) morning.
Just after 7 o’clock Quinte West firefighters responded to the Bay Street facility after smoke in one of the units set off an automatic alarm.
Investigation determined there had been a cooking incident involving a stove.
No one was injured.
Firefighters cleared the scene before 7:30.
