Strikes by plumbers and sheet metal workers have caused a 10 week delay for the opening of the new Quinte West OPP headquarters in Trenton.
The new police station should be substantially finished by this Christmas with an expected move in date for the OPP early in February.
Meanwhile, crews have run into an unexpected amount of contaminated soil on the site which has caused an unforeseen increase in cost of $175,000.
However, project managers still expect the project to come in on budget or just slightly over even with extras like docks for police and fire boats and a paved parking lot.
