Search and Rescue Technicians from 8 Wing Trenton had a late night call yesterday.
A Griffon chopper from 424 Squadron was called out just before midnight to help rescue an injured camper from a remote area of Queen Elizabeth II Wildlands Provincial Park between Minden and Gravenhurst.
SAR-Techs had been called to help OPP with the rescue and evacuation, since the camper was stuck in a remote and challenging area of the park, near Sheldon Lake.
The two SAR-Techs were lowered to the ground along the lakeshore and walked to the camper, where they were met by paramedics from Lindsay, who helped them stabilize the patient.
The man was then lifted back into the helicopter and taken to hospital in Peterborough but there’s been no update on the severity of any injuries or his current condition.
