Quinte West OPP are in the midst of a week-long campaign targeting large trucks and commercial vehicles.
Operation Safe Trucking ends on Sunday and has already led to 19 charges under the Highway Traffic Act.
In addition, Quinte West officers and members of Kingston Police, the Ministry of Environment and Ministry of Transportation conducted a commercial vehicle blitz on Tuesday, with 32 vehicles checked, 14 charges laid and the plates seized from two vehicles.
Officers are taking a zero tolerance approach to aggressive driving, equipment and log book violations by CMV operators and say the goal of the campaign is to enforce and educate those rules.
At the same time, Quinte West OPP are reminding all drivers that road safety is a shared responsibility, no matter what vehicle you drive.
