On August 15, 2019 members of the Community Street Crime Unit, (Bancroft, Centre Hastings and Quinte West) assisted with the Emergency Response Team and Tactics & Rescue Unit and executed a search warrant at residence located on Woodview Lane in the Town of Bancroft.
OPP officers seized a quantity of crystal meth, morphine, percoset, other illegal drugs, paraphernalia associated with drug trafficking, cell phones, and three firearms with ammunitions. One vehicle was also seized.
As a result of the search warrants, investigators have arrested and charged seven people under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
Justin Sleeper, 26 years old of Bancroft:

• Fail to comply with Recognizance
Cody Sleeper, 20 years old of Bancroft:
• Possession for purpose of trafficking
• Unauthorized possession of a firearm
Richard Bowran, 54 years old, of Bancroft:
• Possession for purpose of trafficking
• Unauthorized possession of a firearm
Lacey King, 30 years old from Bancroft:
• Possession for purpose of trafficking
• Unauthorized possession of a firearm
Rosealie Barnes, 23 years old of Faraday Township:
• Possession for purpose of trafficking
• Unauthorized possession of a firearm
Shayne Menard, 49 years old of Faraday Township:
• Possession for purpose of trafficking
• Fail to comply with an undertaking
Amanda Hudson, 30 years old of Bancroft:
• Possession for purpose of trafficking
Bowran was released on a promise to appear and the other six accused were held for bail hearings at the Ontario Court of Justice.
The investigation is continuing and additional charges are pending.
