The municipality of Tweed is upping its age-friendly status by adding special senior’s equipment in its park.
Now there’s more to the story.
The new equipment installed in the Tweed park recently is accessible and geared to seniors.
It cost $50,000, half of that coming from the federal government’s New Horizon Program.
Manager of Parks and Recreation Rachelle Hardesty tells Quinte News a fitness instructor will go to the park, putting together training packages.
She points out how it will help seniors and people with special needs.
Hardesty says the instructor will begin the program a little later in the summer.
