Theft of motorcycle
On August 5, 2019 at 3:19 p.m., police were called to a Yeomans Street location for a report of a break and entry into a garage. Investigation revealed a blue and white Suzuki 600 was stolen sometime between August 4 and the afternoon of August 5. The Ontario licence plate on the motorcycle reads SRYMA. Members of the Scenes of Crime Unit are assisting in this matter. Police are asking anyone with information about this theft to contact investigating officer Cst. Theft of gasoline
On August 5, 2019 at 5:59 p.m., police responded to a gas station on the southwest side of the city. A vehicle described as a red Mini Cooper was last seen driving west on Dundas Street West. It was driven by a female who left without paying for a sum of gasoline. Police have video and a partial licence plate to continue the investigation. Fire
On August 5, 2019 at 10:58 p.m., police responded to a dumpster fire at a business location in the Bell Boulevard and North Front Street area. The container fire billowed lots of flame and smoke, but the Belleville Fire Department had it under control quickly and safely. Fire scene investigators do not believe the fire to be suspicious, as it was contained to one solid structure, with damage only to refuse and debris inside.
