Last month was a very busy one in Belleville’s Building Department.
Building permits were issued with a total construction value of just over $24 million.
That compares to only $6 million in July of last year.
To the end of July, permits with a value of $86.4 million have been issued, more than double the
$42.7 million for the same period in 2018.

Last month, building permits were issued for 25 new residential units in the city.
Among the larger permits issued was one worth $11.8 million to allow construction of a large apartment building at 135 Station Street and another worth $2.5 million for a storage building and alterations at the HEXO building on College Street East.
