A woman was arrested on drug and weapons charges early this (Thursday) morning in Belleville.
Police stopped a suspected suspended driver on South Front Street around 2 o’clock and noticed the grip of a handgun sticking out of her purse.
Further investigation led to the discovery of narcotics, a large amount of cash, and a weigh scale.
Police say the handgun was a .38 calibre starter pistol.
The woman was charged with possession of narcotics, possession of an imitation weapon, and driving while under suspension.
She appears at a bail hearing today.
