A commercial vehicle safety campaign in the Lennox and Addington coverage area resulted in almost half of the vehicles checked being taken out of service.
The blitz last Thursday involved members of the OPP, the ministries of environment and transportation and Kingston Police.
Six MOE inspections led to highway traffic act charges while 17 MTO inspections led to 11 charges and eight vehicles being taken out of service.
Three Kingston Police inspections led to one charge and one vehicle taken out of service, while four OPP inspections led to three charges and two vehicles being taken out of service.
In total, 30 vehicles were checked, with 46% of them being taken off the road for various safety issues.
