A Toronto area man appeared in court on Sunday after he was found in possession of a stolen vehicle on the weekend.
Northumberland OPP say officers were notified of an abandoned vehicle on the shoulder of the eastbound 401 on Saturday morning near the Big Apple in Cramahe Township.
The sedan had been reported stolen from the Toronto area.
Just before 3 p.m., officers were then notified of a suspicious man walking around with a purse in the Big Apple parking lot.
The purse belonged to the registered owner of the stolen vehicle.
Matthew Edward Kraus, 36, of Toronto was arrested and charged with possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, theft over $5,000 of a motor vehicle and five counts of failure to comply with a probation order.
