Belleville Police Service responded to 60 calls for service between July 27, 2019 at 5 a.m. and July 28, 2019 at 5 a.m.
On July 27, 2019, at 11:04 a.m., police attended on Sidney Street regarding a disturbance. A 19-year-old male was arrested for threatening an occupant in a residence. The male will appear in court on August 22, 2019. His name will not be released as it would identify the victim.
On July 27, 2019, at 11:08 a.m., police attended on Millennium Parkway regarding a disturbance. As the result of an investigation, 36-year-old Tim McInnis of Napanee was arrested. He was charged with assault and causing a disturbance. He will appear in court on September 5, 2019. The victim did not sustain any injuries.
Traffic Enforcement – Stunt driving
On July 28, 2019 at 12:20 a.m., an officer on patrol observed a speeder on Hwy 62 at Hwy 401. The vehicle continued west on Hwy 401 at a high rate of speed. The speed was locked in at 151 km/h while on the 401. A 42-year-old Richmond Hill man was charged with stunt driving. His licence was seized for seven days and his vehicle was impounded for seven days. He will appear in traffic court on August 12, 2019.
Traffic Enforcement – Novice drivers//speeding
On July 28, 2019 at 1:25 a.m., a motorist was stopped for speeding on North Front Street. The 18-year-old Belleville man was charged with speeding and “novice driver – blood alcohol concentration above zero”. He was issued a 3-day licence suspension.
On July 28, 2019 at 1:51 a.m., another motorist was stopped on North Front Street for speeding. The 21-year-old Belleville man was charged with speeding and “novice driver – blood alcohol concentration above zero”. He was issued a 3-day licence suspension and his vehicle was towed from the scene.
On July 28, 2019 at 2:32 a.m., a motorist was stopped on North Front Street for speeding. The 27-year-old Belleville man had been consuming alcohol. He registered a “warn” on a roadside screening device and his licence was suspended for three days. His vehicle was towed and he was issued a provincial offence notice for speeding.
