Domestic Assault
On July 26, 2019 at approximately 12:00 p.m., as a result of a domestic assault reported on July 23, an 81-year-old Belleville man was charged with assault and released on a promise to appear in court. He was given a court date of August 12 to answer to the charge. His identity is being withheld to protect the victim.
Public Intoxication Arrests
On July 27, 2019 at 12:15 a.m., police arrested a 31-year-old woman for public intoxication after an officer on patrol on Bridge St. West in the area of Everett St. observed a male and female involved in a disturbance. After attempting to diffuse the situation, the officer eventually arrested the Belleville resident for her own safety and the safety of others. She was transported to The Belleville Police Service where she was held until morning at which point she was released on a provincial offence notice for public intoxication.
On July 27, 2019 at approximately 1:30 a.m., police were called to a north end licensed establishment with regards to a large fight. As a result of the disturbance, a 22-year-old Belleville male was arrested for public intoxication and taken to The Belleville Police Service where he was lodged until morning and released on a provincial offence notice.
On July 27 at 3:30 a.m., a 24-year-old man and a 19-year-old woman were arrested for public intoxication after having being sent on their way once earlier in the night from a north end licensed establishment. The two went a short distance before bringing more attention to themselves by getting into a dispute and staggering onto North Front St. Both were taken to cells until morning and later released on provincial offence notices.
