CAO Search
The Municipality of Prince Edward County is making progress on their hunt for a new Chief Administrative Officer.
Council approved the terms of reference for the CAO Recruitment Committee at their regular meeting on Tuesday night at Shire Hall.
Mayor Steve Ferguson says they are moving along with the process and the committee and recruitment firm are meeting Friday to go over the parameters of what will be involved in the search and the type of candidate they are looking for.
On May 28, Mayor Ferguson and councillors Janet Maynard, Bill Roberts, Stewart Bailey and Brad Nieman were appointed to the CAO Recruitment Committee.
Following the review of the proposals and interviews by the CAO Recruitment Committee, council approved Feldman Daxon Partners at the July 9 meeting as the recruitment firm to aid the municipality in their search to fill the position which was vacated in April.
Robert McAuley has been Acting CAO in the interim.
Priority Setting Exercise
Council in Prince Edward County is hoping to have their priorities for the remainder of term established sooner rather than later.
Council approved a motion to begin work with Impact and Main, a Toronto based company to help them formalize their strategic direction for the municipality for the next three years.
The timeline would see the consultant meet with County staff this week and begin work on August 1.
A tentative timeline sees the final report presented to council at the end of September.
Mayor Steve Ferguson says he’s not in favour of prolonging this exercise as they are almost eight months into their term.
He says they need to sit down and have those discussions regarding what council wants to achieve.
