Making decisions on the fly didn’t sit well with those around the horseshoe at Shire Hall when it came to the farm tax ratio.
Prince Edward County council decided at their regular meeting on Tuesday night they would send the motion regarding this year’s Young and New Farmers Grant funding program back to the ad-hoc committee.
That decision came after council thought about amending the numbers as to which farmers would be eligible for assistance this year.
Mayor Steve Ferguson said they should look to see if there is room to amend the grant program.
He said if Council were looking at amending numbers, it should be sent back to the committee versus changing the numbers on the fly in council chambers.
