The ongoing heat wave has led Prince Edward County to open its cooling centres for the weekend.
You’ll be able to beat the heat at the Prince Edward Community Centre until 8:00 tonight and between 8:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. the rest of the weekend, as well as at the Wellington and District Community Centre until 8:00 tonight and between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
County staff say the splash pad at the Picton Fairgrounds and various public beaches are also good spots to cool off.
You’re also reminded to check in on family members, elderly neighbours, or people you know who don’t have air conditioning, to make sure they stay cool and hydrated as well.
