Arrested on warrant
On July 12 at 4:41 p.m., Belleville Police arrested a man on the west side of the city. Police observed the man, 33-year-old Bryan Robert Roddick, who had an arrest warrant for charges of failing to comply with a recognizance and failing to comply with probation. He was taken into custody without incident and held for a bail hearing.
Prohibited driver
On July 12 at 11:11 p.m., city police teamed up with the Canadian National Railway Police in the arrest of a city man who was found to be driving while disqualified. The incident occurred in the Airport Parkway and Elmwood Drive area. A motor vehicle was stopped by the CN police. A request was made for support, and the Traffic Safety Unit from the city police attended to assist. The investigation resulted in 34-year-old David William Whiteman being arrested and charged for driving while prohibited. His motor vehicle was seized for a 45-day impound. He was transported to Belleville Police Headquarters and processed. Whiteman was released on a promise-to-appear in the Ontario Court of Justice later this month.
Liquor Licence Act arrests
Three adult males and one 16-year-old male were arrested for being intoxicated in a public place throughout Friday evening and into early Saturday morning. The three adults were lodged to holding cells and released later in the morning once sober. The youth was picked up by a parent. All were issued provincial offence notices. There were no injuries during these occurrences.
