On Wednesday, July 10, Northumberland Paramedics announced a new partnership with Wounded Warriors Canada that will further enhance the mental health resources in place for local paramedics and their families.
Wounded Warriors Canada is a registered charity that honours and supports Canada’s ill and injured Canadian Armed Forces members, veterans, first responders and their families by focusing on mental health and wellness in the face of workplace-related trauma.
With this new partnership, Northumberland Paramedics will have direct access to core programs funded and facilitated through Wounded Warriors Canada.
This includes an employee assistance program, a workplace-sponsored wellness committee that engages in information and awareness campaigns, a road to the working mind training for manager and employees, and a peer support program that is currently under development.
