Belleville Police Service responded to 71 calls for service from July 8, 2019 at 5 a.m. to July 9, 2019 at 5 a.m.
Domestic Assault
On July 8, 2019 shortly after 12 p.m., police were called to a west end residence with relation to a domestic dispute. As a result of investigation, a 20-year-old Belleville resident surrendered himself to police at The Belleville Police Station at approximately 3:30 p.m. The male was charged with assault and mischief and was released on a promise to appear along with an officer in charge undertaking. He was given a July 29 court date to answer to the charges. His identity is being withheld to protect the identity of the victim.
Traffic Enforcement
On July 8, 2019, at 11:52 a.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop on Pepper Avenue. A 28-year-old male was charged with driving while under suspension and failing to stop at a stop sign. The male will appear in Traffic Court on August 12, 2019.
Trespass by Night
On July 8, 2019 at 9:58 p.m., police attended on Sandpiper Court in relation to a prowler in a backyard. A homeowner had detained a male who was arrested by police for Trespass by Night and three counts of breach of probation. Aaron Woods, 26 years of age, will appear in court on August 8, 2019.
