Belleville city council will likely make final decisions on two much discussed items at its meeting Monday afternoon.
Council will have the final say on whether or not some of the former Nortel building and property can be used as a marijuana processing (not production) facility.
The planning committee supports the plan which developers say could bring up to 50 new jobs to the city. Some people living nearby the property don’t want a marijuana-based operation at the location.
And, council will either support or deny a planning committee recommendation that five semi-detached residences (10 units in total) be allowed at 427 Farnham Road near Moira Lea Court.
Residents nearby have steadfastly opposed the application since day one, and worried about safety and traffic especially with a roundabout to be built close to the proposed development.
