The cause remains under investigation but fire caused serious damage to a house in Brighton late Sunday afternoon.
Brighton and Cramahe Township firefighters responded around 5 p.m. to the home at 49 Greenway Circle to see flames shooting through the roof.
Brighton Fire Chief Rick Caddick says working smoke alarms alerted the two occupants of the house and they got out safely.
Damage is estimated at about $150,000.
