Lennox and Addington OPP’s Crime Unit has laid charges after an opioid-related death on Huron Brant Drive on the Territory Saturday evening.
Police, firefighters and EMS paramedics responded to find an unresponsive 38-year-old woman who was later pronounced dead.
With the assistance of the Belleville and Tyendinaga police services, 39-year-old Richard Johnston of Belleville has been charged with possession of fentanyl and crystal meth for the purpose of trafficking.
He appeared for a bail hearing today (Sunday).
OPP say trafficking in opioids is a very serious offence as potentially fatal drugs are involved.
