3,942.
That is the number of people who crammed into the chalked lines of a maple leaf, on the soccer fields at Centennial Park in Trenton.
Saturday June 29, 2019 will be remembered as the day the Bay of Quinte area smashed the world record for LARGEST HUMAN MAPLE LEAF.
The idea came in 2018 to Mike Eden, the owner of Leon’s Trenton. His goal was to find a way to not only honour Canada, the area, but most importantly our military men and women, and veterans. Funds raised from the event go to support Soldier On
During the day, there was music, a vendor alley, games, merchandise, free coffee, giveaways, and more.
Around 11:00 a.m., the people who were registered began filing into the soccer fields, in a giant chalked out maple leaf.
Spencer Cammarano was the adjudicator (Official Judge) from Guinness World Record, and she discussed with Quinte News what rules had to be followed.
