The students, parents, and other volunteers from the Adventure Class at Queen Victoria School got together today (Friday) even though their summer break started at the end of the school day yesterday.
They paraded through city streets in the midday waving signs in support of their grades 1 to 6 program.
The Adventure Class parents, students and other supporters are fighting a decision by staff with the Hastings Prince Edward District School Board to cancel the Adventure Class program in two years.
At that time, students from Queen Victoria and Queen Elizabeth schools will be amalgamated into one new school to be built at the current site of Queen Elizabeth on MacDonald Avenue.
Meetings between senior administration and Adventure Class advocates have been scheduled.
