Firefighters are dousing hot spots after an early morning house fire in Quinte West this morning (Tuesday).
Crews from the halls in Bayside, Batawa, and Tucker’s Corners responded around 4:45 this morning after a neighbour of a vacant house at 2120 Hamilton Road, just east of RCAF Road, reported seeing flames inside the house.
The house was recently sold and was undergoing renovations.
The fire was under control at around 5:30 this morning. It’s estimated that about $250,000 damage was done.
No one was injured.
Meanwhile, the power was out in the area surrounding the fire, affecting a little over 1,000 Hydro One customers. Power was expected to be back on well before 9 this morning.
