Dozens of businesses started up in the Quinte region last year with the help of Trenval, a federally supported non-profit organization.
According to information in its annual report, Trenval supported 30 new and existing small businesses with financing totalling $1.9 million.
The money allowed about 220 local jobs to be created or maintained.
Trenval serves Belleville, Quinte West, Stirling-Rawdon and the Deseronto area.
The new chair of the Trenval Community Futures Development Corporation is the Deputy-Reeve of Tyendinaga Township Adam Hannafin.
