It appears there will be no relief from water levels in the Bay of Quinte or Lake Ontario in the near future.
According to the International Lake Ontario – St. Lawrence River Board, outflows passing Cornwall will stay as is, for at least another week.
On Friday the board met to discuss options, but due to high water in the lower St. Lawrence, and flooding in Lake St. Louis, more water cannot be handled.
They are also blaming high water outflows from the Ottawa River over the weekend.
In our area, Prince Edward County, Quinte West, Brighton along with New York State, and others are demanding the board look Plan 2014, which looks to stabilize water levels on both sides of the Moses Saunders Dam by Cornwall.
