Construction activity in the City of Belleville was a little slower last month than in May of 2018.
The city’s building department issued 82 permits with a construction value of about $5.6 million.
In May of last year 97 building permits were issued with a value $9.3 million.
There were just about the same number of permits issued for new residential construction, at just over 20 last month and in May of 2018 but the value was over $1.5 million less last month.
However, for the year ending in May, construction value has been higher this year, totalling around $34.4 million compared to $31 million for the same period last year.
