ASSAULT ARREST UPDATE
A 40-year-old has been arrested in connection with an alleged assault earlier this week on the riverfront trail in Belleville.
Police were called to the trail west of Front Street on Tuesday evening where two men were said to be involved in an altercation.
Several officers and the Forensic Identification Services team attended the scene.
A 58-year old male victim was taken to BGH with facial lacerations and bruising.
Police issued a warrant for a suspect.
Denny Turcotte of Belleville was arrested early Wednesday.
He was held for bail on charges of assault and breach of probation.
BEAR SPRAY ASSAULT
Belleville Police investigating an alleged assault involving bear mace.
Police were called to the Palmer Road area around 1:20 a.m. Friday where they discovered a woman was sprayed with bear mace by another woman.
The two women are known to each other.
