The man who has played more games for the Belleville Seantors than anyone will be back for a third season.
Twenty-three-year-old defenceman Andreas Englund has signed a one year, two-way contract with the Ottawa Senators. It will pay him $700,000 U.S. if he makes the NHL roster and $80,000 if he plays with Belleville.
Englund was considered the most improved player on the B-Sens last year. The 6 foot 5 defenceman scored a career high 3 goals and 11 assists. He also played 3 games with Ottawa.
Englund has played in 137 games with the Belleville Senators over the past two seasons.
Reports out of Ottawa say the Senators hope to have restricted free agent goaltender Marcus Hogberg signed to a new deal this week.
