One man was taken to hospital following an incident on Belleville’s riverfront trail Tuesday evening.
Police received a report of an altercation involving two men on the trail west of Front Street around 7 p.m.
A 58-year-old male victim was located and taken to BGH with facial lacerations and bruising.
A suspect has been identified and police say an arrest warrant will be issued for a 40-year-old Belleville man on charges of assault and breach of probation.
Police are also thanking members of the public who tended to the victim and provided police with video of the event and a descriptions of the suspect.
