An historical society and a research centre are celebrating “big time” in Ameliasburg on Saturday.
The Seventh Town Historical Society will celebrate 50 years and the Marilyn Adams Genealogical Society will mark 25 years.
The significant celebrations will feature historic information, music, and events for adults and children.
The day will showcase what the society and the centre do.
“We hope all the community and visitors will be able to come out and enjoy this celebration of history and community,” says Diane Godbout, President of the Seventh Town Historical Society.
Spokesperson Janet Comeau tells Quinte News the Genealogical Centre has a great service for the public.
The public will have an opportunity to take tours of the centre.
Comeau says people will be able to see and learn how vintage head stones are repaired.
They can research land records or a family history.
The Seventh Town Band will provide music in the afternoon with a mix of acoustic/Celtic/folk.
Comeau says birthday cake will be provided.
The event runs from 10 a.m. to 4 pm. at 528 County Road 19.
