A 24-year-old Belleville man faces charges of sexual assault, assault with a weapon, weapons dangerous, assault, and breach of probation after incidents that occurred Tuesday.
Just before noon Tuesday Belleville police began investigating a domestic assault and a sexual assault.
Then at 10:30 Tuesday night, the same suspect is alleged to have confronted a man while armed with a knife.
That incident occurred at an apartment building in the east end of the city.
Police arrested a suspect yesterday (Wednesday) morning at Belleville General Hospital where he was getting medical treatment for injuries suffered in the confrontation the night before.
He appears for a bail hearing today (Thursday).
