Members of Prince Edward County council are not impressed with the work of the contractor hired to update the Ameliasburgh park washrooms.
The project is months behind the original completion date and the new date for completion is now July 3.
Ameliasburgh ward councillor Janice Maynard said Canada Day celebrations usually held in the park have been cancelled.
Meanwhile, councillor Phil St-Jean had this to say about the contractor Standard Paving Limited.
Staff did say that some of the delays were not the contractor’s fault.
Council is not considering litigation but will have staff continue to pressure the contractor to get the job done.
The City of Belleville has filed a lawsuit against the same contractor for alleged deficient work on washroom upgrades in Zwick’s Park.
