Aggravated Assault
On June 11, 2019 at approximately 6:30 p.m., a 29-year-old Belleville male was arrested in relation to a historic domestic situation that was reported to police on June 5. The male is being held in custody for a bail hearing on June 12. At the time of this release the charges include aggravated assault and sexual assault. The name of the accused is being withheld to protect the identity of the victim.
Motor Vehicle vs Cyclist
On June 11, 2019 at 10:30 p.m., police responded to a motor vehicle versus a cyclist collision at Albion and Pine streets. The cyclist, who did not have a light on his bicycle, was taken to Belleville General Hospital with minor injuries. There were no charges laid in relation to the accident.
