The local unemployment rate last month followed the national and provincial trend in going lower.
The unemployment rate for the Kingston-Pembroke region, which the Quinte area is a part of, was 5.1% last month, down from 5.4% in April.
The national rate was 5.4%, the lowest it has been in 43 years. The provincial rate in May was 5.2%, down from 6% in April.
